Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is sure to take you back in time to the 70s. This realistic-fiction novel is loosely based of real-life 70s bands, such as Fleetwood Mac. It tells the story of a 70s rock band through present day interviews from the band members. It starts out by introducing Daisy Jones, who lives in California, who comes from a wealthy family, and is a talented singer.

Everyone knows Daisy Jones and The Six- the greatest band in the 70s. With the beautiful

enigma Daisy Jones and the mysterious heart-throb Billy Dunne and their band-mates, their

glorious life filled with fame, drugs, love, and attention was picture-perfect. Except, the band

broke up in the middle of their glory after just one album and no one knows why. This book tells

the real and ugly truth as to why the greatest band alive broke up and how maybe things aren't

It’s the late sixties. Daisy Jones is a beautiful precocious girl with parents who barely

care and the most naturally astounding voice possible. Until now, she’s spent her time sleeping

with rock stars, getting high, and writing. The Six is a pretty well-known rock band, with the

handsome Billy Dunne as the lead singer and groupies, roadies, and drugs galore. At least until

Billy’s girlfriend gets pregnant, and he realizes he needs to sober up and get straight for his

Kiss & Tell by Adib Khorram is about Hunter Drake going on tour with his bandmates and

having to experience all of the pros and cons of being a star. It doesn’t help that everyone is

involved in Hunter Drakes’ love life because he is Gay. My favorite part about this book was

how all of the bandmates helped each other out even tho sometimes they fought with each

other. I loved reading this book during LGBTQA month. I recommend this book to everyone! I

give it a 5/5!

Kiss and Tell is a story about Hunter, a boy going through a hard breakup with his boyfriend. A boy who is also in a band that is widely popular. But he doesn’t know how to be the perfect gay boy for the band. Stuck between things The Label wants from him and the new relationship he’s falling into with another band’s drummer, Hunter is stuck. But when the media’s idea of him is changed after some texts get leaked, he must juggle his actual life and what people want from him.

Hopepunk is a story about Hope Cassidy.  A girl who grew up in an extremely Christian household being told that rock was the Devil’s song. But this was nothing compared to her sister Faith, who had to lie about her relationship with the record shop cashier, Mavis. But when their younger sister rats Faith out, she makes the decision to run away instead of going to the horrible facility her parents suggested. Her family is now in pieces and Hope decides she wants to rebel.

Four teen friends, Celeste, Steph, Gina, and Eva, are all members of a famous band, Moonlight Overthrow.  All was good until Celeste and Eva underwent a messy breakup, causing the band members to break away. All band members had formed their own path until a storm brings the four members together, for one last show.
